Marie Antionette Dress

Zariel has always wanted one of these fancy dresses and finally the opportunity to dress as Marie Antionette arose and there was an excuse to make a dress worthy of excessive French royalty. Of course as the first time making one of these, there were some bumps along the way, but a lot was learned.

Size Petticoat sized for 32”waist but because it is tied on will fit smaller and slightly larger.

 Construction: Purple with roses over dress, blue petticoat and stomacher, silver lace ruffled sleeves and neckline. Fake flowers are sewn onto the front but are fragile. The petticoat ties in the front and the back leaving slits at the sides for undergarment pockets (it does not come with the pockets piece). Overdress is secured with hook and eyes on the side of the stomacher (front part in blue) and then the neck lace is snapped on. Under the folded back are ties which can be adjusted to size. The piece that gives the hip shape is not included but can be added if requested.
