1840’s gown
This gown started off as a pre-covid idea to attend a Christmas Carol-themed party, that ended up being canceled. I researched some of the styles of the 1840’s to get the shape and colors typically worn and found this lovely green-red color-shifting fabric, and trimmed it with an antique gold. (It was also my excuse to buy my first petticoat). With this process I learned a bit more about corset-making, particularly that next time I work with boning, I need to iron it.
Size: 37” bust, 33” waist
Construction: will likely require some ironing as it is likely to wrinkle in transit. Works best with a petticoat. Multiple clasps in the back (hook and eye style at top and snaps on skirt).
Care: Machine wash, gentle cycle, tumble dry low
Rental Price: $118 per week
Security Deposit Price: $470
